Numb.

Numb.

A Poem by Benjamin Seymour
"

"
Were I to take this body
And fling it from this shore
Upon those unforgiving rocks
Clenched up to the ocean floor
Would life feel different, then?

Were I to climb these hills
And inhale the fresh, new air
Marvel over the simplicity
As nature's storms unravel before me
Would life feel different, then?

Were I to sail this ancient ocean
Discover islands to the south
Learn to understand another land
Embrace a stranger as a friend
Would life feel different, then?

I cannot know.
For now, life holds me here.
Captive.
Numb.
