Wish I was the other girls

Wish I was the other girls

A Poem by Mary Steffen
"

This is about a person who is looking to be one of the popular girls.

"
Wish I was the other girls
Never worn diamonds and pearls
Always looking in
Never know where to begin
I would've loved to be on the other side
Different personalities would collide
It's just a pipe dream
I'm just letting off steam
I'm here to reveal
Everything is so unreal
Never was a hit
Always was a misfit
Always look inside
I am willing to take a ride

Lovely, mary,
The ways you've ascribed a young girl's fantasy to be like the the other, more popular girls, but I always was drawn to the different kind of girl, the one who stood out as her own person, who wasn't a carbon copy, who had her own personality and little quirks that charmed me no end, the kind I could not only adore and kiss and hold, but I could call true friend, the rare one "willing to take a ride", and you'd have been a hit with me. ; )
I'm guessing (hoping?) you were one of those kind … btw, Mary was my beautiful mother's name.

A most fetching, well-composed, and laid down Rhyming Couplets piece, that spoke to my heart … thank you warmly for sharing you, Mary ⁓ Richard 🍃
