Goodbye Summer, Hello Familiar Face

Goodbye Summer, Hello Familiar Face

A Poem by MKD
"

Lovely.

"

There's Pumas sitting by the stairs
Stairwells where kisses are forbidden
And embraces are left only for
Using shoulders as crutches
For broken knees
Stomachs
Heads
And the occassional heart.

Contols that switch between
Football and Disney
Pop stars
When the music isn't
Deafening the airwaves
Other ways.

Sweet summer nights spent
Sitting on cars
In cars
On the way
To the next place
To steal away
Precious moments
That fly by our clouded thoughts,

Wrestling bouts of tears
And tickled touches
Melding sobs with laughter
Until hysterics are intelligible
But telling does not matter
Once arms find hips and
Flails turn limp, while eyes,
Watery and bright find the light
of summer sun shining for
the hopeless romantics.

About
I'll admit it, I cannot for the life of me write on cue. It just comes to me when it wants to, and doesn't when I want it to. Go figure. In between sudden urges to write, I dance, a lot, listen to som.. more..
