The Wizard Will See You Now

The Wizard Will See You Now

A Poem by MKD
"

It started as a paper piece, you know, something you don't think is strong enough to say aloud, but then I realized that the power were in the spoken words, not the words themselves. You would like it better if you heard it performed. Maybe you have.

"

I am stuck at a crossroads
Between Who I Am and Where I Want To Go
Because self sacrifice is a prettier way of calling it quits
And stepping back won't take me far enough away
From all of this

And you will meet me at this fork in the road
Lost and lonely with only one place to go
So take a seat, it may be a while
While we try to find a place called home
Click your heels together
Three more times
And one less friend

The Wizard will see you now
Its all uphill from here

Pretty faces painted on
Pass the mirror, pass the time
Sing a song of lullaby
Hush the problems of the day
Flying monkeys chase the good away
Intentions were good but tensions are high
So sing that sad, sweet lullaby
And paint on a pretty smile
One more time
The Wizard will see you now

And I am stuck at a crossroads
Between Who I Was and Where To Go
Following the yellow brick road
Til it all came tumbling down

Caught in the twister with screaming witches
Secrets shared with pleading sisters
Find me all alone
At a crossroad between Who I Am
And Where To Go
This Wizard will see you now.

About
I'll admit it, I cannot for the life of me write on cue. It just comes to me when it wants to, and doesn't when I want it to. Go figure. In between sudden urges to write, I dance, a lot, listen to som.. more..
