PainA Poem by Mary Jo. ClareThis poem describes the common feeling of pain. This poem attacks the emotional effects of pain, rather than physical pain. Please allow yourself to relate to this poem. Enjoy!Pain. It takes different sizes and forms Occurring as a light drizzle or fatal storm A reflex in response to betrayed love and loyalty That causes my body to ache uncontrollably Its darkness appears around the corner and silently lurks Waiting to inspire a devastating world of hurt When my heart thuds suddenly into my chest I am aware of the presence of my unwanted guest That fails to let me live a life of joy Rather, it completes its task of leaving me destroyed
