This is a beautiful haiku, firstly, well done! Many find the structure inherent of a well-written haiku to be an imposition on the expression of the poem...Clearly this is not the case, as you have illustrated wonderfully. This is a highly relatable poem, touching on the natural yearning for a "light" that cures a "bitter heart", defending joy we allow to become sadness. Yet at the very same time, it can also be very personal to a reader, who might agree with your words literally, (and also delight in sunshine) or take it deeper to ponder their own "sun". Of course more interpretations/observations could be made, but I'm curious what you originally intended for this poem. :-)
Beautifully penned. It's said the cloud cover prevents the sun's rays from lighting our lives and robs us, as well, of the Vitamin D, so necessary for prevention of illness.
