The Absence of Love

The Absence of Love

A Poem by Mary Jo. Clare
"

This poem is about the absence of love in one's life. Please allow yourself to relate to this poem if you've ever experienced this before. Enjoy!

"
The absence of love

Is an impatient void, waiting to be filled

Corrupting my well-being

And making it ill

I hope for an intimacy

That can calm my anxious presence

A yearning welcoming embrace

That ends this inhumane life sentence

A search for one that can open my eyes, to the good the world beholds

Enabling me to see, Earth's glorious bounty unfold

I will write about Love's enemies

Till I discover it's shining light

Utter and complete darkness

Shall continue to plague my life

I felt this poem .. because I to am waiting for that special someone, and it does feel like a life sentence and it feels like it will never come my way and I see everybody else paired up and content with their lives.. very well written.
