The EndA Chapter by Mary GreenwellChapter Nineteen “My
queen.” A male bowed low and I looked up at Clay. I had a memory but it was too
blurry to get anything from it. “You
remember Abaster don’t you?” He provided and I smiled suddenly remembering my
old witch tutor. “Ab.”
I smiled giving him my hand and Clay shook his head but was smiling as he
walked away. “I
hear that you are going to have to learn a lot of the spells over again.”
Abaster laughed. “No.”
I shook my head. “I’m done with classes.” I reminded him and we both laughed
together. “I
would like to teach you some Witch.” He told me and I nodded. “I
need to learn.” I admitted and he smiled. I tensed quickly though when he ran a
finger down my cheek. “I should get back to Clay.” I whispered and I quickly
pulled away and moved over to Clay. “What
was with that?” Clay asked obviously having been watching us. “If
I were to tell you something about my old life would you promise to keep your
head?” I whispered. “That
would depend.” “Clay.”
I begged, “You deserve to know this but I refuse to tell you it unless you
promise to remember that it was over a hundred centuries ago.” “Tell
me.” “The
reason I had started pulling away from Abaster….” I started slowly, “… he had
kissed me.” I whispered tightening my hold on him. “He…
kissed you.” He stated. “A
very long time ago. I came back over to you when I remembered.” I pointed out
and he just sighed and wrapped his arms around my waist. “Why did we have so
many secrets back then?” I whispered. “Because
you were doing what you thought was best and trying to protect me.” I smiled at
that and just put my head in his chest. “No
more secrets.” I promised, “I don’t want them between us.” “Deal.”
He smiled sealing it with a kiss. © 2013 Mary Greenwell |
