A visit from the family

Chapter Five

 

“Are you ready?” The goddess of the water asked and I nodded smiling as they all used their powers to make me look like a goddess.

“It was easy.” Angel promised me as I looked in the mirror. “You’ve looked like a goddess since you were created with my son in mind.” I smiled at that and just looked around. I was positive now that Cupid was right and Angel really did like me.

“Okay he’s back.” Deshaun smiled coming in and with him was Daddy.

“Daddy!!” I smiled running into his arms.

“Alena…” He whispered holding me close.

“I’m getting married.” I explained and then I twirled around so he could see me.

“You look like a goddess.” Bryn’s voice came from behind him and I ran over to her holding her close.

“See I’m perfectly well.” I smiled hugging her.

“Who was it that got us?”

“My groom… Cupid.” I smiled and then gestured and introduced all the goddesses. “… and Angel, Cupid’s mom and Deshaun’s wife.” I finished and Daddy pulled me back to him.

“I always knew you were too beautiful for mortal eyes.”

“Why haven’t you visited?” Bryn whispered hurt.

“I’m in the process of becoming a goddess. I can’t be on Earth for more than a few minutes until I finish.” She hugged me again but then Cupid walked in looking more beautiful than ever in his white tux. I moved over to him quickly and he smiled pulling me closer. “Thank you… thank you so much.” I promised and he smiled at me before kissing my forehead and turning to his mom.

“We’re ready.” He explained and then he left. I realized then that no god had spoken in front of Daddy and Bryn.

“I’m not allowed to stay for your wedding.” Daddy whispered and I nodded understanding. He would be hurt if the gods spoke around him in anything but Cupid’s soft whisper. I watched as one of the gods took him and then they all started greeting Bryn.
