Chapter Twenty-threeA Chapter by Mary GreenwellChapter 23 “Lily! Cole!” Leo’s voice came through the door. “Look Leo wants us!” I exclaimed jumping up and running through the door. “Yes Leo?!?!” I asked a little too happily and everybody looked between me and Cole realizing we’d actually been having a serious conversation… one I didn’t want to have. “Do you two need to go talk?” Leo asked. “Yes.” Cole said quickly. “No I’m sure whatever you have is WAY more important.” I said over him shooting him a look. It told him that we’d never be getting into the position to be having that conversation ever again. “I think if they were having the conversation I think they were they need to go finish talking.” Piper said knowing very well what we were talking about. “We weren’t.” I smiled sitting down beside her and Poppy where Cole had no room. “Distance doesn’t bother talking.” His thoughts came. “But my shield does.” I sent and then put it up. I saw the shock in his eyes as he realized just how desperate I was not to ever have the conversation again. “Okay so we’re discussing schedules for school.” Leo said looking at me warily. “I think this is a very good meeting to have.” I told him, “I’ve been toying with some choices see…” I started and saw him sigh and everybody’s shock as I continued but Cole’s worry as he heard the classes, “Okay so I’ve been thinking… Raising your power 101… Demons 101… The History of Magic…” I saw Piper’s eyes light up she’d recommended that one but Cole’s just held more worry as I continued I’d actually researched all these held extensive chapters on Demons and progressing your powers, except History of Magic, he knew exactly what I was thinking about doing, “… Kickboxing…” Cole relaxed a little that was just a hobby but it was also a power in a way seeing as I was much more talented than anybody else in the world could ever hope to be, “… learning to control your powers… Meditating… and of course the basics.” I finished, “I figured out a way I could fit all of them into my schedule but I wasn’t sure if it would be taking on too much at once you know with the power boost all this is going to give me too. I think you two were right though this school will be good for me a structured learning environment to gain control.” “We need to talk Lily.” Cole said tensely. “We can talk later, Cole. Leo and Piper need to get our schedules turned into the school so we can start. I took a very inconsiderate trip making them behind schedule. I’d like to formally apologize for that by the way.” “What’s going on, Lily?” Piper asked. “That’s what I’d like to talk to her about.” Cole said tightly. “After Leo turns in the schedules. You aren’t the center of the universe Cole.” I said slowly and then turned to Leo, “Now what do you th…” I felt the pull of the blink and I was ticked, “Why did you do that?!?!?!” I screamed at Cole. “Why are you signing up for only classes that specialize in demon training?” “I’m interested.” I said tightly, “Now take me home.” I ordered. “No.” he snapped so I did a simple spell he had no idea how much I suddenly remembered from my time with Jonathon now that I didn’t have to block it from my mind around him. I was at home suddenly without him. © 2013 Mary Greenwell |
