Chapter EightA Chapter by Mary GreenwellChapter 8 “So when we get home…” Lindsey started. “Lily and I will be going away to talk.” Everybody jerked up and stared a little closer his sentence proving that something had changed between us but we pulled into the yard and Leo and Piper were waiting. “We need to talk to Lily and Cole.” Leo said strictly and I couldn’t help but laugh knowing it had to do with our mischief we’d caused at school together everybody looked at us again not used to me laughing but when I looked at Cole he smiled and then laughed too showing me he’d thought all the trouble we’d caused today had been more fun than dangerous too. “Living room!” Piper yelled. She was a witch the reason that Cole and I were so powerful against the rules that had been in place when we’d both been changed Piper had taught us the witchcraft and had even done a spell that only she knew to give vampires witch qualities what she didn’t know was that I already had witch in my veins and Cole had had warlock in his. His deaths had killed the warlock and made him entirely good but it was the reason he worried about me liking to use my powers so much he thought it would make me bad. Nobody knew the truth the real reason why Cole and I were so powerful but Cole, Piper, Leo, and me. Kalila wasn’t as powerful because Piper’s sister had had a vision telling her what was the problem before she’d done the same thing to her but Liz, Piper’s sister, had had visions of all of the others each time and they’d given each of them the potion in both families. We had the strongest families and that was what they had wanted to be able to protect their families they were good deep down and knew evil would try to overtake them. “What happened?” Leo ordered us to talk. “You know I’ve been thinking…” I started, “It was an accident that it was me and Cole that you did this to right?” I asked. “Of course.” Piper said tensing. “What if you were supposed to do it to us? We’ve always been closer than anybody else in the family even when we’ve been the farthest apart we’re the closest I don’t think it was accident. I think somebody wanted us to be this powerful. That means we were meant to use our powers.” I shrugged and Cole shook laughing finally catching up on why I would bring our relationship into the conversation when everybody could tell it was painful for me to. “Even if that’s true you weren’t meant to use them at the cost of bringing all of the supernatural down with you.” Leo said. “Says the one that allowed their wife to break the law because it could create super beings nobody could control and even now creating people like Cole and I are still against the law because they don’t know what will happen. I keep getting more powerful.” I finished smugly. “Speaking of more powerful you need to be spending more time studying those powers of yours or they’ll become uncontrollable. Both of you do.” Piper said. “Okay I’m confused are we in trouble or not we have plans?” Cole asked and they took a step back unused to him being the one to speed up their process of trying to make me realize how important learning how to use my powers was. “You are both in trouble but Lily more because she’s two hundred and is acting like a teenager again coming in all hours of the night and won’t tell people where she’s been… refusing to act responsibly… cutting class… expelled from school…” “Mr. D-day hates me!!!!!!” I screamed standing up. “You better sit down.” Piper ordered. “You better not touch me.” I warned. “She had human blood twice today.” Cole told them, “Which is why I’m trying to hurry this process along perhaps since we are expelled anyway this can wait until tomorrow?” “Okay she can get some animal in her today and relax. I hope you guys can talk in your room.” Leo said. “No we can’t we are going for a walk.” I snapped angrily, “Why don’t you try to stop me? Go ahead touch me or just get close I’d love to move from the window to a person.” “I’m taking her.” Cole promised pulling me out of the house once we were out of the house; he pointed me to the woods. “Hunt, then, meet me here. You can take the power out on an animal.” “A poor innocent animal…” I whispered crying. © 2013 Mary Greenwell |
