Chapter SixA Chapter by Mary GreenwellChapter 6 “Wow you two really are the Cole and Lily that the world talks about.” Ben said. The whole world watched every step we took and so now that Ben knew that we were that Cole and Lily he also knew that we weren’t imprinted this life, it’d been a shocker to the whole vampire world. “Yeah… so Lil needs some more blood.” “Who did you attack this time?” he asked as we walked out of the school. “Nobody amazingly. The human blood makes her too powerful. When people touch her now she gets too much power our last two siblings came to visit and didn’t know she’d had human blood so they naturally hugged her so she already had them then the office staff started to fret over her when she collapsed over the strength of it.” “Should you be touching her?” “I…” “He helps.” I managed, “That’s all we’re saying on it.” “Shhh… we’re almost there… just lay there and rest we’ll get you some strength back then we’ll take you hunting when we get home.” Cole whispered to me brushing my hair off my face gently and his fretting felt better than the office staffs, better than anybody’s on any day. We were all silent the rest of the walk but I could tell they’d picked it up to the quickest they could go without drawing attention as Cole continued to brush my face gently making my memories come back way too much for me to not have a shield. “Here,” Ben told Cole handing him something. “Lily-be?” he asked softly and I realized I had closed my eyes I opened them to look at him. “Yes?” I asked painfully. “Drink this.” He whispered tilting the bag into my mouth and I let my instincts take over. I lay in his arms after I was done letting the blood sink into the tissues. “Feel better?” he asked when I jumped out of his arms, and away from his soft hands that had still been running across my face, and I knew my mind was silent to him again because I’d put the wall back up as soon as I’d gotten the strength to do it back. “Yes much thank you.” “You had me worried.” He admitted. “I know.” “How?” “You might not have let me have your thoughts but I can still read your face like a book.” I told him while we walked Ben back to class when he was sitting down Cole let everybody wake up and we walked to the office. © 2013 Mary Greenwell |
