Chapter FourA Chapter by Mary GreenwellChapter 4 “I’m so sorry, V.” I whispered and I was I knew how it felt to hear the man you loved tell somebody else he loved them. “No I’m sorry he told me everything all about you guys. He told me about how you two have always been imprinted.” I realized he had never told her all this time she had never known it was painful for me to be around them. “Not this life he imprinted with you.” I shook my head. “No I told you he told me everything. If he had really imprinted with me then it would have been my name at the end of that I love you not yours.” “Well he’s not imprinted to me either he doesn’t even want to be with me. We’ll just have to see whose special enough for Collin.” “You’re still in love with him aren’t you?” “Do you promise not to think about in range of him?” “Yes.” “I never lose my imprint between lives. I only ever told Kali that and only Kali found out today that I didn’t even lose my imprint when he told me that you two had imprinted.” “You are still imprinted to Cole.” She whispered. “Yes.” I nodded. “That’s why you have been so moody lately you’ve been dealing with your best friend stealing your imprinted.” “I tried really hard not to think about it like that.” I promised. “You couldn’t help it though. He told me we were imprinted so I told you like he knew would happen and you lost your imprinted.” “He had told me before you told me six months ago after your first kiss he told me you two were imprinted.” I whispered. “The day I lost my nickname of V.” she whispered and I nodded as tears fell. “I’m so sorry, V. I didn’t mean to be so unfair it just hurts so bad.” I whispered. “I understand. I mean I can’t imagine how bad it would hurt loving a man for one hundred years and then him deciding you aren’t going to get to love him anymore.” “It’s my punishment.” I whispered. “For?” “I gave him a sick daughter. It’s my punishment for that.” “You don’t get punished for that it’s not your fault that your daughter was sick.” “We have to get to class but I want to tell you one more thing a secret I’ve had to keep from everybody because they’ll all make me stop but you can’t even if you think it’s bad for me.” “Okay.” “Well when everybody asks where I’ve been at nights…” I said and she nodded, “I go and visit mine and Cole’s old homes so that I can remember a time when he loved me.” “I can’t believe nobody has thought of checking there.” “There have been a few people that have checked but not the family. I’ve had to protect myself.” I sighed. “You’re not going to exaggerate are you?” “No because if your thoughts slip around Cole he can’t know.” “Okay everything will be okay though, Lily.” “I know because now our relationship is back to the way it should be even if I don’t get Cole.” I felt another tear fall but I forced them back as we separated and I walked into English a class I shared with only Cole. © 2013 Mary Greenwell |
