Eden

Eden

A Poem by Maryam Mottahedeh

Eden

Eden, where are you?

Eden, it is me

I’m calling you

Can you hear my pulse?

Eden, I reach to discover you

Like a treasure buried

In the chatter that is the curtain

In my den I shall paint you

As you deserve to be revealed

Naked

And it is my own covering that I look to unravel

I look for a sweet snag

So that together

We can inhale

Naked truths

I come and go onto you

Like an oasis

Real as the island of my mind

Knowing well your den in found amidst

Deepest waters
