Sun Gazing

Sun Gazing

A Poem by Maryam Mottahedeh

Sun Gazing

Wrapped up in the do, do, do

And the deeds of the go, go, go

For the thoughts of more, more, more

I catch a glimpse of the gazing sun

Up at my horizon

Like a perfect jewel in ripeness

Hanging on the blue vine of perception

An invitation to the ritual we shared

Like the tug of a lover’s spontaneous call

The get away from it all

And the basking

In it, in a different way

In the chambers of my heart

The whispers grow wings

And together we chase the steps to the rooftop

To the sundeck where limitations drop

There our eyes lock

And once again

I’m found filled up in knowing

I am spirit lucidly weaving my dreams into reality

With each repetition of my mantra

I realign

Rising in and out of dreams

Lucid like the sun

Falling in and out sleep

Like a baby in mother’s arms
Weaving my dreams into reality
