Garden of Eden

Garden of Eden

A Poem by Maryam Mottahedeh

Garden of Eden

In the Garden of Eden

We are the gardeners

More than that

In the Garden of Eden

We commune with the Garden

As the Garden does with us

And all of creation and mother speaks to us

In the communion with the Goddess

We hear the buzz of God all around

And we in turn entrench ourselves with knowing

That is far beyond the confines of the indoctrinated apple

We not only commune for our own expression

But we give that back to all of creation

Like an echo from the depths of our knowing

And ripples from which we and water are one

Mirroring in light

The garden is both a memory from our past

As is a projection of our future reflecting in manys’ hearts

From where myths come back to life

In the world where we tell our own vision

Where Eden is awakened from her falling hands

Uplifting humanity to its rightful place

Of dignity in galactic creation
