It’s All Good

It’s All Good

A Poem by Maryam Mottahedeh

It’s All Good

Some stories are told

To stir things up

In longing for some kind of response

An echo perhaps, just to know ones owns voice

Like dishes some are brewed to

Hear the Ooos and Yum yums

And refine the chef’s tools

In navigation of recipes

Like the fruit tree I know some

Will eat me, chew me, spit me

And some, savor the memory perhaps

Some may want only the shade

As to digest their own story

Not for everyone

You be you and I me

I miss my friend whose tender bosom bore

Such confessions

To inspire my jaw’s dropping

My heart wishing to escape

The cage of ribs in an outreach

And the rolling tears

In the whispered longing to

Bare more humbly

So that my fruits may reach

Ever closer to a hands reach
