Wanting

Wanting

A Poem by Maryam Mottahedeh

Wanting

Wanting you to come to my dwelling

Wanting you to arrive in my desire

Wanting you to embrace in my arms

Wanting you to forgive in my mistakes

Wanting you to forgo in my stubbornness

Wanting you to foresee in my shallowness

Wanting you to appease my loneliness

Wanting you

Wanting

To share your laughter in my drink

To share your dawn in my dessert

To share your dance in my room

To cultivate spring’s vividness in my mind

To radiate your eyes with a vision

And extend your hand in my ascent

Wanting

Wanting my authentic self
