On My Mind

On My Mind

A Poem by Maryam Mottahedeh

On My Mind

Soft, silky, velvety as chocolate moose

I want to eat your skin, body and juice

Dewy moisture of your glistening sweat

Has rippled its mark beyond my face

Through my pores

Into my memory

The imprint of your taste

Your flesh under my bite

Of my favorite crevices leading to your ears

They need to cultivate patience

So that the slowing of time

Can fill the unimagined gaps that exist

Where for, I will open up

My blossoming secret flower

So that the marvelous pressure

Of your amazing body

Can melt into mine

I cannot forget nor leave behind

Your eyes, your smile and hair
