Questions

Questions

A Poem by Maryam Mottahedeh

Questions

When is the returning

Where is the reunion

Whom shall be quests

Hosts and spectators

When is this coming

So many have spoken of

The page in time

Will the dawn of 2012

Blaze through the cemented brick walls

Through shadows

Underneath the rocks

And down into the cellars

By which force

Upon which gates do we stand

To catch a glimpse of the second big bang

Will this be a solitary journey

Do the fish swim alone

Can an eye witness itself

Are we so sure of our ways

That we don’t stop to question them anymore

Should we look for a middle man

Should we look under our nose

And listen to our heart

Get off the bus

And escape the rout of predestined stops

I heard in the rain

That storm of midnight

The silent thunder

Why wait and waive the flag

Of it’s just a matter of time

Is it ever just
