Stranger in the Night

Stranger in the Night

A Poem by Maryam Mottahedeh

Stranger in the Night

In colors of a patriot

You ride your bike

Like phoenix in the sky

You steal the night

The loud roar of your horse

Lets me know where you are

You take your helmet off

As a king might his crown

With each step you close the gap

With thunder bolt you set a trap

My escaped heart beat

With which you wrap

Taking in a fugitive in the night

I inhale your electric fire gaze

And the pleasure of your smile

I have forgotten my name

Or what language to speak

Great stranger of the night

Will you come back to meet
