Calling the Warrior

Calling the Warrior

A Poem by Maryam Mottahedeh
"

Exploration of the true meaning of worriorship - befriending oneself

"

Calling the Warrior

In the garden there is a flower

Behind the barb wire

The bitter Plague

Of guilt, fear and judgment

 Maintains the prison

In which all is experienced

By the vision of the setting sun

I shout out to the warrior

Leap! Come Forth! Reach out, reach in

And cut this old prison

So that you’re precious flower

May once again

Bloom in the vision

Of the ever rising Sun
