A conversation with Pain about Pain.

Oh! Pain

Oh! Pain… You are so very dire

Caused out of an acute injury.

 

An Injury of heart may be…

But, they say the only function of heart is to pump blood.

Let us say it could be mind.

If it is so?

Then, either my mind is too feeble to get hurt

Or it is too dandy in terms of ethics.

 

Whatsoever, You Pain! You are really very dire.

 

But, they say the only function of mind is to think.

Let us say it could be soul…

If it is so?

Then either my soul is too amiable to weep

Or it is too exquisite in terms of morals.

 

Whatsoever, You Pain! You are really very dire.

 

Some times you take the form of tears

Making me feel more of a victim

 

 

Pain! You are really very dire.

 

And Sometimes you take the form of anger which I vent out on my loved ones.

Showing me the Satan side of mine

 

Whatsoever, You Pain! You are really very dire.

 

But, You know what?

Over the years I have realized..

You ain’t that bad

 

Pain you showed me the importance of Smile, Laughter & Joy.

You showed me who can be with me & who can’t be with me when you are around.

Alas! You also showed me I am not the only one who suffers you…!

The uncertainty is the beauty of the poem. When it pains, we never know the where it all started, it just hurts. We all can connect so much to it. It is the pain that makes us realize the small joys in life. Beautifully organised and very smooth. I like the punch line a lot, "Whatsoever, You Pain! You are really very dire."
