Walking a mile

Walking a mile

A Poem by Mary Christabel George
"

There is a mixture of many things here. Hope one will bifurcate, differentiate & understand them all each.

"
Walking a mile....!

Walking a mile

Searching for smile

Me & my Solitude

Nature gifted me with gratitude.

Returning to a home...

Which existed never.

Loving a mother...

Who never loved in return.

Love so profound & chaste...

Seen only in dreams & fairy tale.

Walking a mile

Searching for smile

Me & my Solitude

Nature gifted me with gratitude.

Lost in the crowd...

Yet very lonely.

Solace arrived gracefully...

Mind haunted with thoughts.

It’s raining out there ...

Regret not getting wet.

Walking a mile

Searching for smile

Me & my Solitude

Nature gifted me with gratitude.

Looked into the mirror...

To see the broken reflection of self.

These barren lands...

Haven’t seen flood for long.

Smiling & laughing now...

Over the tears & pain survived ever.

Walking a mile

Searching for smile

Me & my Solitude

Nature gifted me with gratitude.

Wow, Mary. Powerful and profound piece. I think anyone who has at one point or another felt like they were taken for granted in some way or another or dealt a bad hand can relate. I enjoyed this and also enjoyed the chorus and italics every two paragraph. Send me some requests - would love to read more.

You are so welcome, and thank you, too. =)
Living Life, however tough comes easy to those with the gift of gratitude. For such people know how to spot the rainbows behind grim grey clouds.

"Looked into the mirror...
To see the broken reflection of self." - You say a lot here while doing some terrific poetry too. We are broken by our very own who turn us away when we seek from them love.

However, only we can restore ourselves and pick up the pieces. Remember, we are priceless and we deserve the best.

Excellent presentation Mary! Write on!

I read this and hear it as a song. The repetition of that one stanza is very eerie, and lends itself to powerful emotions. Very nice. My favorite part:

Looked into the mirror...
To see the broken reflection of self.

Nice write :)

I like this poem, I related to the part where you were talking about feeling lonely in a crowd, and when you regret not getting wet in the rain. :)
