Do You Love Me As Much As I Don't Love You?A Poem by Janette Jets
You ran away with my iPod
right after you finished insulting me. "Can you guys grab my books, please? I'm just going to get my iPod and I'll return right back." Ten minutes passed and you continued On a normal day, I'd have no issue hanging out with you but that day, I had something to give him "Just go to him." "But you have my iPod." "So?" We ran up and down stairs but there was no fun. You had never spoken to me with that tone of voice, with those choice of words... "Why are you being mean to me?" "I don't know." We made the fair trade, and I took your iPod. I walked away from you, partially angry. I didn't know you were following me. A tight hold around my body... "Aww." Did you find me cute to be mad? I looked around and hoped that no one I knew was watching "What if they tell him that they saw me and someone else?" "They'll think I like him." I wormed out of your hug. I liked you once before, understand. And I never told you. You can't have a "What if?" moment, which is why I will never let my past confession out of reach You hurt me, and you thought that I'd be yours in this approach. I liked you for three days. I know the exact days, how sad is that? I understand where you're coming from, but your love alone isn't a mutual love.
