ANDREW
Since the crack of dawn, we camped outside the building
to be the first ones to go.

WENDY
So your still waiting to go? We’ve been waiting in line
since four, it’s good to be in the waiting room at
last.

ANDREW
No, I’m just waiting for someone; I came as moral
support.

AMANDA
Well that’s sweet, we both trying out for the part.
(giggle)
I don’t want to brag but I think we got what it takes
to win this, don’t we Wendy?

WENDY
You’re right Amanda, We’ve been besties since we
started drama school. I think you should get it Amanda.

WENDY
Nah, you should get it.

ANDREW
Well good for both of you.

Silence passes though the room as ANDREW goes back
to his phone, WENDY and AMANDA start to do their
Warm up routine, stretching, jogging on the spot
and yoga.

ANDREW looks on in minor irritation.

AMANDA
Well we’ve done our physical, so lets do the vocal. Now
just rub your cheeks, loosen up them up.
Both the girls rubs their faces.

WENDY
Then there’s also the chewing gum.
Both of them start miming that they are chewing
gum, starting minimalistic and making the movement
more exaggerated.

AMANDA
Do the faces.

AMANDA
Of course, can’t forget the faces.

They both strech their faces out and squash them
back in, they do this three times distracting
ANDREW.

AMANDA
right remember the next bit, take a deep breath in.

(Both take a breath in)

long as they can, ANDREW gets annoyed putting his
phone away.

ANDREW

Facebook!

ANDREW
It’s clive Barker, brought few days ago on app store.

AMANDA

ANDREW

THOMAS enters from stage left smiling and carrying
his RUCKSACK with him.

THOMAS

week. I guess they really liked my version of Doctor
Faustus. Thanks for waiting out here for Andy.

ANDREW and THOMAS hug and kiss before getting
their belongings together.

ANDREW
That’s great, I got to chapter twenty three on the book
as well, Mr Barker knows how to keep you interested.

THOMAS
Told you you’d like it. Now what else have we got to do
today?

ANDREW
Well I think we’re still on for your parents today,
then our table at the restraunt around seven?

THOMAS
You so organised, I think I’m ready, lets go.

ANDREW
Sorry gals, nice talking to you.

ANDREW and THOMAS exit leaving AMANDA and WENDY
bewildered.

WENDY
What did he mean by he got the part?

AMANDA
have they already fully cast, they can’t be?

WENDY
And they gave it to a... guy?!

AMANDA
Why? Why! Maybe he was lying, check the door!

WENDY runs to check the door stage left just as a
sign appears on it saying ”Auditions closed”.

WENDY
That’s it then. We were bested by a boy.

AMANDA
And his... friend.

THOMAS re-enters stage right picking up a COFFEE
CUP from the table.

THOMAS
