children of light

children of light

A Poem by Martha Gilleece
"

All of us..

"

growing alone
in a familiar place
dancing under the moon
and sleeping with the sand
body temperature rising;
to you,
my sun.
my ruler,
I plead, I beg of you
reveal the road
I shall follow
for I am nothing
but a daughter of earth
my tears pour with the rain;
I revolt aside the lightning
your words swarm inside
and emit through my fingertips
born to surrender
to you,
my sun
