Dream

Dream

A Poem by Martha Gilleece

She found herself sitting in the grass,
surrounded by daises that shined a blinding light.
The ground was not green
and the daises were not white.

She began wandering around,
thinking she was in a dream.
Clueless to her whereabouts,
she knew nothing was as it seemed.

As she searched and searched
for a familiar landmark;
she watched the anxiety invade her veins
and the once bright colors turned dark.

Then she started to run
and felt the intruders as they grazed her bare feet.
“Why were these daises not white?”
She whimpered underneath.

Her eye lids shut

but her legs did not rest.
Unaware of how long she had been running,
she slowed to catch her breath.

Her knees bent
and slowly lowered her down to her fate.
From a million thoughts to a blank slate,
there was no time to deliberate

.

The time had come for her to surrender to this place.
She became conscious to what she must soon face.

As she lay with her back down,

gazing towards the sun,
she knew that her journey had just begun.

Very nice! I really liked this poem and look forward to reading many more as you write. Again thank you for a somewhat twisted tale of ones awakening. Nice job.

I really like this. it seems like it could develop into a decent story if you wanted it to.
