The Girl In The Hood

The Girl In The Hood

A Poem by Marta Pinha

There’s something I had to say, and I couldn’t see another way.

She has those beautiful eyes you don’t see everyday.

She is some kind of peculiar flower, one of those hard to find

And it was no surprise I couldn’t get her off my mind.

She looks at me with her beautiful blue eyes and that cute little nose

Killing me when she cries, making me smile when she’s close.

Her hair is dark and she has a mysterious child’s face

She likes to look strong but her heart is full of grace

And what can I do for my poor wounded heart

If I feel it cry everytime we’re apart?

Oh, sad fate. I’m feeling always under some rain.

The girl in the hood is making me go insane.

I can’t escape from this feeling, from the girl who is so smart

Because no one can live so far away from their own heart.

I like this write. The imagery you use gives me a good picture of the girl you describe. One suggestion, if you are going to use punctuation, use it all the way through, there are some lines that don't have it and some that do.
