In the Darke

I don't remember much from my past life. I remember being chased through a darke forest, tripping, then an incredible pain that ended everything. My face, or the memory of it, is fading quickly. What am I now? Faceless? Nothingness? Or worse? The memory of my features, personality, friends, family, and enemies are gone. I have a new blindness, a mental blindness, which is the worst of all. I don't even know my own name. Sydney? Sarah?Samantha? I don't know my killer's name either. Or were there more? Exactly how many people had tried to kill me... and succeeded? So many questions buzz around inside my head like a chainsaw that won't quit. Everyday I hear voices murmuring to me that I can't put a name to. It is slowly eating away at my sanity. I don't know who or where I am anymore.

My eyes flicker open. I see a sudden burst of color and hear a woman's shrill scream. I let out a startled cry. A man's voice reaches my ears. "It is a girl." He says simply. I let out another shriek, this time of hopelessness.
