Just lost a close friend. We were a lot alike. She once told me that when they passed out responsibility, we both got an extra dose. This is for you Deborah.

AM I LIVING

 

i breathe

i eat

i sleep

but am I really alive

how much am I taking in

am i sure to notice the beauty in life’s simple pleasures �" a beautiful landscape, the setting sun, birds, flowers

do i do nice things for the people i love

do i take care of myself

do i make time for the things that please me

do i show my husband how much i love him

do my children believe that they are the most precious things in my life

am i living

or am i just putting in my time

i do appreciate my blessed life

but i want to make sure i am completely present for it

in every moment, in every action, in every way

when i reach the end of my life here on earth, i don’t want to have any regrets

i want to look back on my life and say to myself, “Well done!”
