Shades of Slumber

by Marshal Gebbie

Slipping into darkened slumber
Silver tensions ease to sigh,
Dreaming intercedes with candor
Prone, alone with sleep am I.

Gentle snoring slides to tenor
Rapid eyelids flutter bye,
oblivion to deep surrender
Gentle, velvet sleep am I.

Dreams of rougely nippled sirens
Plunging to a calming sea,
Fleshed in swelling rings of passion
Slumber's sister's hand on me.

Deep down to abyss's chasm
Deep into  serene's pink calm,
Gentle slumber's sensual finger
Slides into oblivion's balm.

Marshal Gebbie,

An exquisite piece of poetry, indeed, we believe that sleep is still. In fact, sleep is most active as well as holds the keys to all of our thoughts.

R.E.M.: the most active during sleep mode, feeling as though it goes on forever, when in fact it goes on for moments; R.E.M. holds the key to all of our emotions - worry, doubt, love and well... that place.

You have pulled us into your room, we watch serenely as you peacefully drift. We feel you floating through the darkness of your setting and then sink into your blissful abyss.

Beauty reigns inside your words, I grade you a hundred... more if I could.

Have you entered into the poetry contests from Poetic Infusion Society? If not, I think the contest Love is the place for this piece.

Thank you for sharing,

Legacy

I don't think even exquisite or divine would be words fit enough to describe this masterpiece. Completely out of this world beautiful would be my first thought. Bravo!
