For You...

For You...

A Poem by Marquise

Who do I write for?
Who am I singing these songs for?
Who would I die for?
Who am I living my life for?....

How can we fight more...
when everyday that passes we promised
that we would all love more?

But I guess that plan imploded
like a building hit by a boulder, so
let's try the kitchen sink...

As you can see...its overloaded
with broken hearts and dishes...
So let's wash away the residue and resentment
with forgiving tears and soul-cleansing liquid

So who do you write for?
Who are you singing your songs for?
Who would you die for?
And who do say that you live for?

I write for me and my sanity...
I sing for everyone going through it just like me...
And I would die for what I stand for....
And if you wonder who I live for....
I live for you...
I live for you...

I love this piece, as a musician I felt that one hit home perfectly.
"I write for me and my sanity...
I sing for everyone going through it just like me...
And I would die for what I stand for....
And if you wonder who I live for....
I live for you...
I live for you..."

That says it all. I love the constant questioning and the metaphors are really vivid. Keeps the reader wondering more. well done.

About
I don't consider myself a writer because I don't write often, but I have trouble putting words together when I want to express myself verbally. Writing is the one way I can do this successfully. I lov.. more..
