Short about a guy dropping a girl off to the airport.

The silence pervaded the car, almost like it always belonged. It seemed almost perverted to ruin it. But, this was it, her trip was over. I spent most of my life wondering and now i know. I wish i didn't.
"So, did you have fun?"
"Yea, of course, why wouldn't I?"
"I don't know? Maybe because my friends are a******s."
She laughs and it gets quiet again.
All I want to do is fill the silence. Fill it with everything, anything to change her mind. I just don't think I can handle another no. So, I smile.
"It was really nice seeing you."
"You too." She smiles back.
"We should do this again."
"Yea, we should." We won't.
I'll just spend the rest of the drive knowing I wasn't for her.

Lol, I liked how natural the dialogue was.
Your conclusion was strong, which is always good. That last line is the type of line that any man could resonate with in some way. We've all felt that we just weren't right for someone in some point in our lives.

Very very deep and sad. Its funny how 'civilized behavior' is just a term for hiding our emotions and not saying how we feel about something. This was well written. My heart goes out to the guy.
