Like a DreamA Poem by Marley DerailedA short poem about that feeing...He says he likes it. He asks me if I’m the devil. He says I look snuggly, I tell him I am and he hugs me. I stroke the cat. He says the cat’s lucky. Does he want stroking? I want to touch him like he’s a cat and hear his purr turn into a roar. He broke it. I help him fix it. We lay on the floor side by side, hands bumping, breath mingling, tension tingling. He blows out the candles. He cuts the cake open, the knife hits the bottom. I’m standing close and maybe he knows. He kisses my cheek, what does this mean? I tell him I like his hair. I’ve never liked beards but I love his. He makes everything sexy. He laughs at my stories. I’m not very funny. I’m really quite lame and mostly I’m boring. But when he smiles at me I feel like a queen and his hands on my back feel like a dream.© 2017 Marley DerailedAuthor's Note
