Little Girl

Little Girl

A Poem by Monty.

Little girl in green

Dancing to a tune all your own

Growing up with smiles, kisses & hugs

Tell me once more please just how you do

Just how you do that smile that reaches to twinkle in your eyes

Sparkling with hidden mischief yet never maliciously

What secrets have you kept little one

What tales have you yet to tell

"The little boy who gave me this little daffodil

My mommy who sang me a pretty song

My daddy who swung me high in the air

When I caught a firefly in my hands

(Whispers softly) & when I went away

Past my house

Along the dirty path

When mommy cried

& Daddy yelled"

Tell me why you smile then oh little one

"Because Mommy cried for me

& Daddy loved me

& the little boy who gave me this

little daffodil

smiled for me

even when I went away

little girl gone

taken away by shadowed smiles

& lustful eyes

stolen from her father

taken from her mother

& never to be seen again

by the little boy

who gave her the little daffodil

Little lost one, do you still smile so sweetly?

"Yes miss, I smile because even though I'm gone, I'm still there."
