Surrounding Goodbye

Surrounding Goodbye

A Poem by Monty.

Simple canopy of leaves
Steady whisper of wind
Sly streaks of sunshine
Tell me goodbye

Where has one lost themselves
While others have found nothing but emptiness

When do all the wrong things
Mean something more
When all the right things
Aren’t enough anymore

Missing what’s really just right there
Only to replace something never forgotten

Tell me please
Not a goodbye
But an “I love you…”

When nothing but rain is ever constant
& the moonshine peeks through your window
Why not smile & say yes to this

To the sad days & happy ones
To you & them
Lost but always found
In the End.
