A Contagious Touch

A Contagious Touch

A Poem by Living_Shadowz

Why do you act like I'm infected with something?
Does it upset you when I sit next to you?
You act like I'm contagious to make others laugh.
When did I give you permission to use me as a joke

Would it kill you if I hugged you?
Would you pass out if I bumped into you?
Would you be grossed out if I brushed past your shoulder?

I'm not sick.
I'm not infected.
I'm not contagious.

I'm human.
Well I wish to be, but nobody will treat me like it.
They don't think of me as equal to them.
I'm not something used for jokes, but they don't think that.

Nobody does.

Is my pain seen by others?
Do they even notice?

Do they not care?

They say I'm not alone, but they mean I'm not the only one.
Where I am.
I am alone.

They say I'll find somebody who will help and comfort me.
But I haven't found them yet, so hopefully I can be patient until they come.
If they come
