Persephone: The Declension

Persephone: The Declension

A Poem by Mark MacDonald
"

A brief dramatic monologue from Persephone, Goddess of Spring and the wife of Hades.

"
Persephone: The Declension

This morning I go earth-ward--a climb down
the ladder with my eyes closed, and
my nails torn loose from my fingertips again.
