Heaven only knowsA Poem by Mark Heathcote
Yours and… Heavens fate nobody knows Its beauty is like a purple Damask clustered rose We all know its blooded thorns But nobody knows… Where; its sunsets, rest yet.
Heavens fate nobody knows It’s like those snowy ice flakes You want to catch but melt As soon as you catch them And you would if you could …Only slow down time.
Heavens fate nobody knows As you are led by your forelocks Looking for girls and gold: You ask who if anyone knows If heaven has a purpose for you And in answer all they ever say, Is heaven only knows. © 2014 Mark Heathcote |
