I’ve got my alimony…

I’ve got my alimony…

A Poem by Mark Heathcote

I’ve got a coat and a hat stand

But I’ve got nowhere I can rest

I’ve got a house in Rio Grande

But it rains almost all of the time.

I’ve got a large 4 wheel drive family car

I’ve got my alimony"

But I never wanted your money

Or another man to touch me honey.

I’ve got a lot of dinner guests

But I don’t want to host

Or raise a toast to anything…

No more my long distant friend.

I’ve got our kids but even they’ll

Remind me of you… and all we’ve lost

I’ve got a full-life but it’s empty,

Meaningless without you!

I’ve got my breasts enlarged up-lifted!

But there like two helium balloons…

Going nowhere, baby, without you!

There going nowhere baby without you…

I’ve got my alimony…

But all I ever wanted really honey was you.

I’ve got an empty coat a hat stand

But I’ve got nowhere I can rest

I’ve got a house in Rio Grande

But it rains almost all of the time in my heart.

About
I like all kinds of poems but I tend to gravitate toward eastern spiritual poetry. My muse almost demands it of me. So you may find quite a few being poured out from time to time. I all so write man.. more..
