Milk and butter

Milk and butter

A Poem by Mark Heathcote
"

For mothers who feel unloved...

"

You poured all your love

And life into that saucepan

And it boiled over empty,

And, yet - it’s still fuller…

Than all the clover fields

…Of milk and butter.

I agree with Lydi, Mark. You have expressed your love for your mother very well. Mothers give and give and often feel unrewarded by their too busy families, but in the end she and her family reaps many wonderful benefits from her love. Eventually the kids will look back with appreciation and love for what their mother did for them. A very lovely and meaningful poem, well done!

What a lovely tribute to mothers everywhere, Mark. It would be perfect to frame and give to your mom on Mother's Day. Mothers do pour their love into everything they do....and so often it is overlooked by the people who benefit. Warm emotions and images here. Lovely. Lydi**

I like all kinds of poems but I tend to gravitate toward eastern spiritual poetry. My muse almost demands it of me. So you may find quite a few being poured out from time to time. I all so write man.. more..
