I’ve been tearful, and

I’ve been beautiful I’ve been mad

I’ve been happy and I’ve been sad

I’ve been humble and I’ve felt avarice

I’ve been in love and I’ve lived, without.

 

I’ve been hard and I’ve been malleable

I’ve been true and I have lied…

I’ve been a fool and I’ve been cruel

I’ve been a best friend and I’ve loved you.

I’ve been deep and I’ve been down!

 

I’ve been a dove and I’ve been a crow

And I’ve been a tranquil lake

And I’ve been a falling tree a shadow…

I’ve been a flame and I’ve been the snow

Melting through your fingers…

 

And I’ve been a lock that fits your key

I’ve been the fault and I’ve been the avalanche.

But you’ve been the serpent

Coiled around Enchantment!

At least I’ve been honest.

…At least I loved, you.

This would be a great song, Mark. "I've been a flame and I've been the snow".....great way to portray both ends of the spectrum! Filled with raw emotions.....but if you were honest, you have nothing to regret. Good poem. Lydi**
