The snow is falling...

The snow is falling...

A Poem by Mark Heathcote

The snow is falling and melting

Soon I’ll sleep and meet a star

That never melts or hides

Soon I’ll drift on a wind

That shakes a willow tree

That never ceases to caress me

Soon I’ll be traveling further

Then I’ve ever been or dreamed

Soon I’ll be a petal falling…

Into a crystal lake of blue ice

What more my “love”

Could I ask? Could I ask?

Could I ask of you?

I wrote it last night as a song whilst listening to Snatam Kaur its written as a kind of mantra I did spend a lot of time sitting in the boughs of willow trees in my youth above a river. :)

I'm curious about the images you use, like lake and willow tree. Why a willow tree, I wondered as I read. It made me think you were writing about a place you're well acquainted with. Liked it.

Thanks ((Lydi)) I’m attempting to bring out the inner calm after some stormy weather. :)

I like all kinds of poems but I tend to gravitate toward eastern spiritual poetry. My muse almost demands it of me. So you may find quite a few being poured out from time to time. I all so write man.. more..
