Independent company

Wrote this after a day at the beach, sitting under the trees with the woman I was seeing

I love the summer breeze
Cool and refreshing
The fierce sun fighting through the leaves on the tree
You sit beside me quietly
I lie there smiling
Eyes closed, enjoying the feeling of this moment
And there we stay, alone together
Independent company
Both thinking of future endeavors
The puzzle of life we see
So many pieces that don't fit together
Unsure of the finished picture
We start with the edges, the structure, the plan
The details will come when they have a place
Till then we construct a frame
By your side it will happen
Whatever the scene

Not touching, just being, one day at a time
