Exchange of HeartA Poem by Markus AnthonyWe stare at endless height Though darkness dominates the skies Then just you ran swift like rain That showers now and cools my vein You were far when my senses came back It was the day you to took him back. Days have passed so I accept A picture of us for my heaving chest Worsened rainy nights accompanied by A cup of milk and a frowning sigh. And your songs loved by my sister too Burned soon as my ears are through It pains me when memories flash The pair we formed left to trash. Volunteered to help recover your track Accepted deep your sinful acts The charm you possess beyond compare Spared was I, not from your skillful snare Leave me be as I command I’ll give back your lost hairband Must I have a corrupted mind Yours are nowhere to find. Evening smile like sweet chamomile The title I wish to give this piece Driven by no one so my head declined Instead bucket of bitterness released For a long time caught in abysmal truth Today beauty winks from a lovely youth As the sunshine finishes its final part We can’t have an exchange of heart. © 2013 Markus AnthonyFeatured Review
