A glimmer of hope, in the midst of a sea of hopelessness...

BAD HAND

May 16, 1989

What can you do

When you’re in a milieu

Where the only thing you

Can do

Is to take it in the gut?

When your opponents hold

All the cards, (so you’re told),

Then, they won’t let you fold!

That’s cold!

Sure it ain’t nothin’, but!

All that’s left is to work

At not being a jerk

The hard questions not shirk,

And NO dirk!

It’s sure tough, being a nut!

But as pointless as the direction

I’m pointed in seems

I can, with team effort,

Fin’ly get on the right team,

And despite (and within!) despair,

Hope may soon gleam!
