To Gizmo #2

To Gizmo #2

A Poem by Mark

TO GIZMO (#2)

All lives, we know, must one day end

But eleven paltry years: how brief!

How will my heart contain the grief

On losing my best, most faithful friend?

Now again to life, I must attend,

But Joy's flown, flit like a leaf!

Will soon my Soul feel sweet Relief

Once these poor lines are fin'ly penned?

No. Not so soon as that, I fear

     Will the pain of your loss assuage;

Tho' it take a week, a month, a year

     If ever...or Never!...'til I turn that page!

But 'til that time when re-blooms Joy,

Sleep tight, Gizmo! Sit. Stay. Good Boy!

Mark,

Gizmo sounds like a wonderful companion. Might I ask-- What breed was he? I lost a dog when we were young to a teen-aged driver speeding.....It devastated us. I still miss him. I should write something for him. I can't write for crap lately. I'm losing my mind. I need some inspiration. Where you been?

Intensly moving!
I think you have reached out to many people with these Mark, all too well do we know that loss! Not a loss that goes away quickly either! xx

My Max was with me 3 years and never left me on the step. I miss the of his smiles, waving tail, bringing the stones and the joy what he gave me. Mark, words can't express what it is a loss. In this poem you wrote everything what can say about the most loyal friend.

Another fine piece in conclusion to #1. These poems are special to me since we lost our Gabby in August. I know exactly how you feel. They gel into our life in ways we never know until they're gone. Thanks, pal. Keep smilin'...Lee

Aye, indeed, you, my friend have captured the glory and beauty of stellar word weaving and wrapped it around the most delicate of themes. Such a touching piece. Not many could describe such grief as sensitively and joyful as this. Thank you so much for sharing. :)

Another great write.. flowing wonderfully with such passion for your furry loved one! It's so sad they don't live longer.. it truly hurts when they go... you can tell you really loved him!!! What a lucky dog to have such a wonderful owner to leave a mark in the world for him!

Once these poor lines are fin'ly penned?

This is a multi-faceted line. The poem is so expressive, yet delicately and intricately crafted.
Your poem is deeply touching and inspirational.
