Surrounded yet Alone

Surrounded yet Alone

A Poem by Marissa

The girl that ALWAYS laughs,
Has many friends,
And is the "picture perfect girl."
The girl with the smile,
The one everybody loves,
And most wish to be.
That girl took her life,
Because even being surrounded with-
people she felt alone in this big world.
No one understood, why?
No one took notice she was-
an unhappy, smiling girl.
Lost in a body,
With so much more,
Than she felt she was worth.
As they gathered around her grave,
And reminisced the days they had with her,
They stood in awe of why she didn't-
say anything.
But as they days, weeks, months, and-
even years flew by they never forgot that girl,
The one who left the world out of sadness.
And on their graduation day they-
called her name with a moment of silence-
following; just for the one who felt all alone in this world.

You don't know anyone's story, so don't assume you do. Be there for the ones you think don't need you. Be the rock that the sad person needs. Step up and be a help. Tell someone they are NOT alone. No one should take their life, and no one should feel the need to. Be the one that saves a life!

A sad story in the poem. Many people get lost.
"And on their graduation day they-
called her name with a moment of silence-
following; just for the one who felt all alone in this world"
Some people live and leave no mark. It is sad no-one pay attention and gave them the will to live. Thank you for sharing the powerful poetry.
