A Tree

A Tree

A Poem by Soldier-Of-Life

A Tree

A man plants a seed

Dirt unturned yet fertile

Watering it as best he can

He gives love and hope

As nature brings up a sprout

love is put into his creation

watching as wind almost kill it

seeing how life makes it strong

A tree now in its place

It becomes its path

every moment passing

through sleet and rain

during pain and suffering

through trimming and hedging

sculpted how he pleases

the man moves on

his tree still planted

strong and tall

It stay in its place

leaves come

leaves fall

Winter

Spring

Summer

Fall

It lives day by day

Time becoming and essence

life becomes natural

Once guided by man

Now living for beauty

Time after time the man comes back

eyes seeing the creation

Sometimes bare

Others fruitful

Leaving the tree with a hug

Alone it stands

Growing

Dieing

Giving beauty

Showing pain

A tree is a Tree

It cannot run

It cannot change

Acceptance

Abandonment

Yet A tree is a tree

Giving shelter to some

Destruction by others

One place

through time and space

A tree is a tree

climbing toward a field of blue

Its roots grip earth

Branches stretch broad

A tree is a tree

Not being told

Not looking for more

It is what it is

With love

With Joy

A tree is a tree
